Community Tute 22 - Create a form for the 'Participates' table
1. Start Access and open the database we created in the last tute, select the 'Forms' tab and then hit the 'New' button. If you did not compete the last tute you can download the database
click here to download.
2. Choose 'Participants' as the
data source for the new
form.
3. If the field list is not
displayed (see step 4 for image) then you need to switch it on by selecting
'View' > 'Field
List'.
4. Select all the field by holding
down the shift key when selecting the fields (ctrl key to add or subtract one at
a
time)
5. Drag and drop the fields onto
the main form, you form design should now look like the image
below.
6. Create a rectangle for to group
the address
together.
7. Layout the fields and send the
box behind the other
objects.
8. Now select the address field
and change the properties (if you cannot see the properties switch them on by
selecting 'View' > 'Properties'. Change the special effect properly to etched
(select from drop
list).
9. The the format tools to speedup
the form design, align multiple object to the
left.
10. Make the space between the
objects selected
equal.
11. Save the
form.
12. It should look some thing
similar to the one below, although this is really up to the individual. Hint for
better form design...group similar fields
together.
